Morning Prayers
Here are some of the prayers that the missionaries and associates pray each morning:
O Lord, I give myself to You.
I trust You wholly. You are wiser than I. More loving to me than I am to myself. Fulfill Your high purpose in me, whatever that be. Work in me and through me. I am born to serve You, to be Yours, To be Your instrument. I give my will to You. I ask not to see. I ask not to know. I ask simply to be one with You in love. Amen. -- St. John Henry Cardinal Newman Prayer to the Holy Spirit Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit That my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit That my work too may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit That I love but what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit To defend all that is holy, Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit That I always may be Holy. -- St. Augustine Take and Receive Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will. All I have and call my own. Whatever I have or hold, you have given me. I restore it all to you and surrender it wholly to be governed by your will. Give me only your love and grace and I am rich enough and ask for nothing more. -- St. Ignatius of Loyola |
Morning Prayer
O Jesus, in union with your most precious blood Poured out on the cross and offered in every Mass. I offer you today my prayers, works, joys, sorrows and sufferings. For the praise of your holy name And all the desires of your sacred heart. For reparation of sins, The conversion of all sinners, The union of all Christians, And our final union with you in heaven. Amen. Prayer for Generosity Lord, teach me to be generous. Teach me to serve you as you deserve; to give and not count the cost; to fight and not heed the wounds; to toil and not seek for rest; to labor and not ask for reward, except to know that I am doing your will. Amen. -- St. Ignatius of Loyola Three Hail Marys - one for humility, one for purity of intention, and one for an increased love of God. Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. |
