Associate Missionary

Lent 2026
Dear Friends of St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy,
We pray you are having a Holy and Blessed Lent. As we look forward to the joy of the Easter Season, it is time to renew our commitment as Associate Missionaries. It is also the time for others to join us as Associate Missionaries for the very first time!
To become an Associate Missionary, it is essential that an individual make an honest and sincere effort each day to fulfill the commitments of the Associate Missionaries of the Divine Mercy.
Commitments:
  • The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy is required to be said every day.
  • It is encouraged that you say a daily Rosary.
  • Every day complete one of the Corporal or Spiritual Works of Mercy. The Corporal Works of Mercy are found in the teachings of Jesus and give us a model for how we should treat all others, as if they were Christ in disguise. They "are charitable actions by which we help our neighbors in their bodily needs" (USCCA). They respond to the basic needs of humanity as we journey together through this life. A Corporal Act of Mercy can be feeding the hungry, clothing the naked or giving drink to the thirsty. A Spiritual Work of Mercy can be simply saying a prayer for someone.
We also have some recommendations for our Associates and for everyone.
  • Read the Diary of St. Faustina and the Bible. There are great podcasts, and You Tube videos that you may want to consider. We also encourage you to check out  https://www.thedivinemercy.org/message  to learn more about St. Faustina’s message and devotion to the Divine Mercy of Jesus.
  • We suggest Bible in a Year Podcast, hosted by Fr. Mike Schmitz and featuring Jeff Cavins, which guides Catholics through the Bible in 365 daily episodes. You can start this at any time.
  • Other resources can be found on our website at                  https://www.stlukesmissionofmercy.org

If you are renewing your commitment or signing up for the first time, it would be a blessing if you could join us on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 12, 2026.
  • Confessions 1:30 – 2:45 PM
  • Divine Mercy Chaplet followed by Mass at 3:00 PM

Thank you for prayerfully considering becoming an Associate Missionary for the next year. If you are already an Associate Missionary and would like to continue your commitment for another year, you do not have to do anything. Unless you instruct us otherwise, we will automatically renew you as an Associate Missionary.

If this is your first time committing, You can advise us of your intention to commit by doing one of the following before Monday, April 6, 2026:
1) You can complete and submit the online commitment form that can be found on our website https://www.stlukesmissionofmercy.org under the “Get Involved” tab and “Become an Associate”.
2) You can send an email to us at [email protected] indicating that you commit to being an Associate Missionary for one year and that you promise to do your best at fulfilling the requirements of an Associate Missionary of the Divine Mercy. Please include all information requested in online form.

With gratitude and prayers,
Dennis Gilhooley
Interim Director, St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy
