Thanksgiving 2025 - God is greater than a Power Outage!
So much to be grateful for!
We are so grateful to all of the volunteers who came on Wednesday evening to prepare much of the food for our Thanksgiving Dinner and to all the volunteers who showed up on Thanksgiving Day to help prepare and serve Thanksgiving Dinner to those in need. It was a blessed and beautiful day!
We started the day with a power failure in the neighborhood and no ovens to heat all of our food. The volunteers never doubted and never questioned. They prayed and pressed on knowing that God would provide. We were able to use the new Build Promise Facility and carted pans of food across the street, heated them and brought them back over in insulated carriers to be served in our dining room. As always, God came through and about 11:00 am, power was restored and we were back in business. Everything went so smoothly that you would never know we had this power issue.
Special thanks to WIVB who did a wonderful piece on St. Luke's and our Thanksgiving dinner.
Special thanks to National Grid who were so responsive to the situation we were in and were able to restore power sooner than we expected.
Special thanks to Build Promise for allowing us to use their facility. They are going to be such a blessing to this entire community!
And, again, thank you to all of our volunteers! We are truly blessed indeed.

St. Luke's Mission of Mercy, which has been providing free food and clothing to people in need in our community for more than 29 years, put out a call this week for winter coats for adults and kids of all ages and sizes, along with winter accessories.
“We have always been there to support St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy so when we heard of this immediate need we are able to use our recent donations to put together a truckload of items for them on Tuesday,” said Christopher Billoni, Vice President of Colvin Cleaners. The Coats 4 Kids program, supported by The Allstate Foundation, remains in need of donations. They can also be made at Colvin Cleaners, 2375 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore, many local Allstate Insurance agencies and two Reeds Jenss locations. On Giving Tuesday 2023, The Buffalo Common Council after reviewing many outstanding non-profits making an impact in the City of Buffalo, awarded a proclamation honoring St. Luke's Mission of Mercy citing the impact of nearly three decades of ministry to the poor. St. Luke's Mission of Mercy is humbled to be selected and pray for all who help those in need.
Special thanks to all volunteers, donors, Associates, and Missionaries for all you do to help God's people.
This is because of you!
